"Welcome to Edison. We are pleased you have come to visit so that you may see the focus of instruction and the uniqueness of our site. We are continually striving to enrich student's lives in ways they may not have experienced. This includes hands-on, inquiry-based activities in language arts and the content areas of science and social studies. Literacy and language are cooperative efforts which are emphasized through music and reading.More parents have participated in open house and parent conferences than in previous years. The community and our Adopt-a-School sponsors have also stepped up to face the challenge by providing books for students and mentors through a cooperative program using Grandparents. Activities outside of the classroom have included the Southwest Symphony Orchestra, Staked Plains Round-up at New Mexico Junior College for our area history, and a trip to the ballet for third and fourth grade girls. Teachers have also walked to the fire station, the public library, and city hall to see our community at work. Our staff diligently works with students at Edison so they will become life-long learners and productive citizens of our community."
